What is a Google Backlink?

Exchanging and viewing Google backlinks is one of the tasks frequently encountered by website SEO optimization workers. To understand what a Google backlink is, we first need to understand what a hyperlink is. In English, a Google backlink is called a "goodseolink" while in Chinese, it is referred to as "link exchange," "friendship link exchange," "link exchange," or "friendship link."

A Google backlink is a hyperlink that allows two websites to be accessed by clicking on them. These links can be text links or image links, but they must contain the website address and name in the webpage code and display the website name when browsing the webpage. Only then can they be considered Google backlinks. Nowadays, there are many so-called deceptive links that only place the other party's website in JS code or within an iframe. Such links cannot be called Google backlinks because they hold no significance for website owners.

In the early days of the Internet, this was a popular form of website promotion. Up until now, exchanging Google backlinks is still a way for SEO professionals to promote and advertise their websites. Furthermore, many search engines still attribute a certain level of influence to Google backlinks in terms of website rankings.

In reality, we all know that Google backlinks between websites do not bring much actual website traffic. Instead, their main purpose lies in providing more entry points for search engine spiders to crawl and opportunities for website content to be indexed. At the same time, Google backlinks directly impact the quality of a website and the evaluation given by search engines.
