Mercedes EQS SUV: the Height of Mercedes Electric Luxury Cars
Mercedes EQS SUV: the Height of Mercedes Electric Luxury Cars
Mercedes-Benz is not tiptoeing into electrification. The automaker has a proactive plan in place and shows no signs of slowing down. That's why every few months, there's another Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle hitting the market.
Even as they phase out all those gas engines, Mercedes still needs to ensure they produce luxury cars that exude the expectations customers have for the automaker. It started with the EQS as the electric version of the S-Class sedan, followed by the EQS SUV. A taller vehicle with more headroom, off-road capabilities, and the number one feature the US market desires: it's an SUV.
While both the EQS and EQS SUV impress with their technological features, one thing S-Class owners transitioning to electric luxury cars will notice is the increased headroom in the EQS SUV. There's also the design, which looks better on an SUV, and if you opt for all-wheel drive, the off-road capabilities are there when your second home happens to be on a dirt road.
The all-new EQS pure electric SUV boasts a WLTP range of over 660 kilometers as a large luxury pure electric SUV. Additionally, the vehicle's lithium-ion battery is built with 12 modules, with a capacity of up to 107.8 kilowatt-hours, utilizing an optimized NCM811 ratio and undergoing rigorous battery safety testing. The in-house developed battery management system supports OTA remote online upgrades. Its body shell uses over 40% recycled steel from resource-saving materials, resulting in a total weight reduction of over 100 kilograms and significantly lowering carbon dioxide emissions.
Inside the Mercedes EQS SUV, the interior features a combination of leather and real wood, exuding a sense of luxury. It offers seven color combinations and various functionalities, including rear-seat entertainment, two independent third-row seats, a Dolby Atmos sound system, and a HEPA air filtration system, among others.
The EQS SUV is available with the optional MBUX Hyperscreen, the same 56-inch curved screen found in the EQS sedan, spanning the dashboard and seamlessly integrating the instrument cluster, infotainment system, and passenger display into one seamless design. It also seamlessly combines the air vents with the floating center console below.
The all-new EQS pure electric SUV inherits the design philosophy of the EQ family, perfectly translating the distinctive arched body design of the new EQS onto the SUV model, with a higher roof and body design that enhances its overall appearance.
Building upon the "Night Edition" closed grille adorned with the Mercedes emblem, the "Space-time Loop" daytime running lights feature three sharp triangular lighting units for the first time, showcasing the flagship SUV's elegance.
On the side, the Meteor Shower digital headlights consist of numerous three-dimensional hexagonal matrixes, complementing the daytime running lights, creating a striking visual signature. When the doors open, the illuminated welcome pedals shine brightly, accompanied by dynamically projected star emblem welcome lights, combining light and shadow to create the ultimate welcoming experience, inviting pioneers to embark on a new journey.
The Electric Art style package features luxury seats with exquisite rolled edges, while the AMG style package offers sport seats with independent headrests for SUV enthusiasts. The second-row seats come with luxury headrests as standard. The door panels are crafted by innovative combinations of various materials, with the central armrest and door handles featuring inlaid open-pore white wax wood panels, adorned with several aluminum tristar emblem patterns, providing a modern interpretation of classic craftsmanship with ultimate precision.
